Go to Options > General and check "Show items with Namespaces". After that, you should be able to see the missing items.

You can do it from the Metadata Explorer. Just download the metadata and within the meta.xml file change the version. Once you do that, you can switch back to the Object Explorer. We are planning to add this feature to the Object Explorer in the near future.

We made some enhancements to the editor in the new update. You can download it from here:

You will have to uninstall your current version before installing this one. Also, please make sure you make a backup of the env and options.xml files to preserve your settings and project definitions.

The update coming out at the end of this month solves the issue. You can also right click on the node and set the filter to only show those objects matching your soql query.
